NORTH SHORE BRIDGES RETROFIT PROJECT

Description

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) is preparing functional designs and business cases to the retrofit the Lions Gate Bridge and the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge that cross the Burrard Inlet.  The project is advancing in-water caisson and berm protection solutions based on the outputs of detailed risk assessments to strengthen each bridge’s resiliency in the unlikely event of a vessel impact.  This retrofit continues the Ministry’s ongoing rehabilitation program of updating of these critical bridges.

Scope of Services

CJI is providing project management services as the Deputy PM as well as providing Environmental advisory services to navigate the complex multijurisdictional regulatory environment.

The role includes:

  • Providing project management services and advice on project plans, project controls, stakeholder engagement, and risk management;

  • Drafting and providing support on business cases and funding applications including Capital Board and Treasury Board submissions;

  • Coordinating and providing support in the preparation of the RFP documentation for functional design and evaluation materials;

  • Leading the development and submission of environmental applications to the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority;

  • Representing the Ministry’s interests in engaging VFPA and DFO.
