Yukon-Casino Mine - Transportation Analysis

CJI undertook an in-depth analysis for transporting concentrate from the Casino Mine property in the Central Yukon to Tidewater at either Haines or Skagway in Alaska. The analysis involved consideration of six different modes of transport including barges, rail and trucks. A detailed assessment was made of trucking considerations which included different types of trucks, trucking costs and haulage requirements. The total haul distance was between 500 kilometres and 700 kilometres in length

CJI assisted Associated Engineering with an assessment of seven different routes, to the mine site from the public road system.  The study included an economic analysis for each route that included an assessment of truck types, trip times and distances and the cost per tonne of the haul. The analysis also included a study of port facilities and optimum routes to these ports.
