Coquihalla Highway

In 2003, the government of BC embarked on a plan to privatize the Coquihalla Highway System between the Fraser Valley and the interior cities of Kamloops and Kelowna. The plan was to lease the highway to a private corporation to operate and maintain the system using tolls that were in place at the time.

Scope of Services:

  • Assisted KPMG with developing contract documents to be used in the procurement of a concessionaire for the project,
  • Investigated different maintenance standards for bridges and pavements for use by the future concessionaire,
  • Developed a risk profile for the future operation of the highway based on the 10 years since the construction of the facility.
