BC Ferries Strategic Plan

BC Ferries

In 2000, BC Ferries initiated a strategic plan to guide the corporation for the new millennium. The plan set a new agenda for ships and shore facilities following the failure of the Fast Ferry initiative. The plan is still in use by the ferry corporation and has led to an acquisition of new ferries for the Nanaimo-Horseshoe Bay route and new strategies for inter-island ferry services.

Scope of Services:

  • Assisted the PricewaterhouseCoopers business team in their development of land-side strategies for the corporation,
  • Developed future scenarios and costs for short routes between gulf islands,
  • Investigated the feasibility of a fixed link between Vancouver and Vancouver Island as an alternative to ferry operations.
